I am looking for financial grants to assist me while completing my graduate degree in business communications with a specialization in influence and leadership. I have been a professional in the non-for profit social service sector for the past 10 years, while my education leads more towards a corporate position, I am finding it extremely useful in the social service arena. I am falling behind financially because the position I am in does not pay a generous salary. I would like to continue my education untill completion of this degree without having to take any time off only due to financial constraints. I am dedicated to the social services and would not be happy to change professions only because of financial reasons. I feel I have a lot of character and an excellent work ethic that is beneficial to my chosen career.
I am in the midst of obtaining my Masters in Business Communications with a specialization in Influence and Leadership. I sought out this degree because I wanted to learn how to communicate better both professionally and personally with the people I come in contact with. This degree has assisted me in a better understanding of how to talk and listen to others respectfully and confidently. This degree has also assisted me in researching problem areas in the non-for profit social service sector, mainly employee relations and communication. My educational goal is to obtain a PhD in Sociology relating to Innovative and Organizational Change.
